Jagdeep Dhankhar On Farmers Issue: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday (December 03, 2024) raised questions on the Central Government regarding farmers and also targeted Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. He said that the path to developed India lies from the heart of the farmer, we should never forget this.
The Vice President said that if farmers are agitating today, it would be a big misunderstanding and mistake to assess that movement in a limited manner. Even the farmers who are not on the streets are worried and distressed today. If India wants to get the status of a developed nation then the income of every person has to be increased eight times. The biggest contribution to that eightfold increase is of rural economy and farmer welfare.
Jagdeep Dhankhar targeted the central government
Questioning Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, he said, “I do not understand why talks are not being held with the farmers? I fail to understand why we are not coming up with such a formula in consultation with economists and think tanks. Who can reward our farmers? We are not giving the reward for what is due, we are being stingy in our promise.
Question asked to Shivraj Singh Chauhan
The Vice President further said, “Farmers are respectable for us, they are always remembered, they are always venerable. I am the son of a farmer myself, I know what a farmer has to endure. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research is spread all over the country. There are more than 180 institutions, which have been working for a long time. No aspect related to agriculture, farmers and agro economy should be left untouched and we should have information. Was any promise made to the farmers? The Prime Minister’s message to the world is that complex problems can be solved through talks. Did the Agriculture Minister before you make any promise in writing? If there was a promise, what happened to it?”
